Welcome to Munising, Michigan your entryway to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The Pictured Rocks is comprised of over 15 miles of seashore alongside Lake Superior.  These multi-coloured sandstone cliffs loom 50 to 200 ft above the water's surface. The "pictures" all through the National Park are created naturally when seeping minerals meet with the face of the sandstone. Wind, snow, and water help create the formations that have been visited by hundreds of thousands of people all through the years. Munising visitors can enjoy these natural wonders spring, summer, fall, and winter. Miners Castle is one of the most decipherable formations and provides guests amazing views of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore cliffs.
