St Xavier Church, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu - Religious belief and architectural grandeur

Kanyakumari not only offers Hindus places of worship but it has one of the most beautiful churches in its hub and it is St. Xavier Church. This striking Church was constructed by St. Francis Xavier on the Kottar of Nagecoil. He, popularly known as “ValiyaPandaram, was basically a priest from Goa and built this church in the year 1600s. Later on in 1865, the church was modernized and was taken over by the Church of St. Mary. Though the Church was constructed so many years ago, but then also its charm seems to be as it was several years ago. Today also, lots of Christians as well as visitors from all over the world came here to pray.
