The Nassau Botanical Gardens, situated on a site that once housed an old rock mine, are a must for anyone with an interest in strange plant life and general fauna. Casing an impressive 18 acres, the gardens are home to some 600 different species of tropical plants combined from a variety of parts of the Caribbean. Trails which visitors can walk alongside offer pretty lily ponds where tropical birds gather, making for more interesting viewing.Six hundred species of flowering trees and shrubs, a small cactus garden, and two freshwater ponds with lilies, water plants, and tropical fish swathe 18 acres.
