Maharana Pratap Sagar, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh - panoramic lake with crystal clear water

Named after Maharana Pratap, this lake is located at an altitude of 450 meters in Kangra district. Also known as Pong Lake, it also houses a Lake Sanctuary which is a great attraction for Siberian ducks and you can see thousands of ducks swimming in the swamp area of the lake. The crystal clear waters and panoramic view of snow- clad mountains and roaring valleys offers the tourists an unforgettable experience of lifetime. The best season to visit the place is from September to March. Also don’t miss to visit the rock-cut temples of Masroor neat the lake. There are 15 richly carved rock cut temples built in Indo-Aryan style that are worth visiting in the region.
