At a distance of just 9 km from Dharamshala, the Kareri Lake is a must visit tourist spot in Kangra. This shallow fresh water lake is located at a very high altitude and offers some of the beautiful scenes of nearby landscapes. Apart from serene surroundings, the lake also offers excellent trekking and hiking opportunities for the adventure lovers. The nearest road head to the lake is Ghera which is 3 km and you have to hike from this spot the reach the lake, else you can also experience a 13 km trek route to reach here.
