Karesansui Gardens are the second kind of gardens found in Japan and are the landscape gardens. The most significant elements of Karesansui Gardens are sands and rocks. The sand is used as a substitute to illustrate sea and the designs on the sand are used to describe the waves of the sea. It's a magnificent vista to view the Karesansui Gardens. The Karesansui Gardens are usually associated with Zen Buddhism. It is an outline of Mahayana Buddhism. The distinctive feature of Karesansui Gardens is that plants are not given any significance at all. It has been found that usually, Karesansui Gardens are present either in front or rear section of the houses of Zen Abbots.
