Those who are fond of adventure in every step of their life, then the Himalayan Institute of Mountaineering was especially made for them only. This exciting place is located at the high altitude of 7000 feet above the sea level. Basically, the Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru was the founder of this Institute and is dignified as an Autonomous Body. The main aim of this Institute is to impart training to the interest candidates for the mountaineering. And, of course, to perform this adventurous activity on majestic Himalayas is the dream of each and every mountaineer. Also, this popular institute takes good care of two museums and one Zoo. The museums have wonderful collections and the Zoo has lot to offer for its tourists in form of rare species of wildlife and other animals.
