Weather condition of Darjeeling is quite favorable and pleasant throughout the year as it faces the moderate climate whole year.

Summers of Darjeeling are very clement and this was the main reason for the popularity of Darjeeling even from the era of the British. The summer season in Darjeeling starts from April and remains till May end. The temperature ranges from 8.5°C to maximum 20°C. Thus, summers are not too hot and sticky.

Winters in Darjeeling are too cool and shivering. The temperature ranges from 1.5°C to maximum 6°C during winters. In winter, one can also face hailstorms and even occasional snowfall in Darjeeling. So, if you are planning your trip in winter, then you must take full woolen clothes with you.

In the months between June to September, Darjeeling faces the monsoon season. In July, Darjeeling faces the heavy rainfall. Rainfall in Darjeeling is very heavy and accompanied with thunder and lightning too.

Therefore, the best time to visit Darjeeling is between the two time periods – first is between the months from April to June and the second is between September to December. It is quite advisable to avoid monsoon season as it is quite risky and dangerous also.
