Being designated as Asia’s largest salt water lagoon, Chilika Lake is one of the main attractions for the tourists in Puri. Only a small isthmus serves as a separation of Chilika Lake from Bay of Bengal. The lake is very wide covering an area of 50km from Puri and is having innumerable small islands to captivate the attraction of tourists. This lake is home to lots of migratory birds during winter. If you fail to see spectacular views of sunrise and sunset, then in my opinion you missed the most fascinating part of this trip. Water activities also take place here on this lake like boating and fishing.
