Sprawling over an area about 820.42 sqkms, RajajiNational Park is one of the main tourist attractions in Haridwar. It was founded in 1983 and is an outcome of amalgamation of three main sanctuaries namely Rajaji Sanctuary, Motichur Sanctuary and also Chilla Sanctuary. Sri C. Rajgopalachariya was the main founder of this national park and the park got its name just after his name as he was popularly called as “Rajaji”. This national park houses lots of wild animals like Leopard, Jackal, Hyena, Cheetal, Barking deer, Sambar deer, etc. Bird watching is also perfect task to be done at this national park.
