Negombo, Sri Lanka - The Main Seashore Resort
The main seashore resort on the coast north of Colombo is Negombo, generally branded as the Fishing Village. Here is an antique world atmosphere of 17th century cathedrals that line the artery and fortresses. The banquet of St. Anne is illustrious here in late July in a celebration atmosphere. Like many other coastal townships in Sri Lanka, Negombo was a significant spice harbor long before the Portuguese placed foot on the isle. The Negombo tarn is a great place to while away your time gazing the Karava fisherman at work. The town has numerous buildings dating back to the Dutch and Portuguese regal days.
