Situated on the border of India and China, Nathula Pass is popularly known as the silk route. It was one of the most important routes of trade between the silk traders from Tibet and Sikkim. The Nathula Pass is at a distance of 56 kilometers from the capital city. Situated at an elevation of 14450 feet above sea level, it is one of the highest routes to have metalled road for motor vehicles. It is one of the favourable destinations in Gangtok for trekking. The amazing scenic beauty and the dense fauna and flora make this place a perfect retreat.
