Enchey Monastery, Gangtok, Sikkim - Architectural style and intricate interiors

Situated just above the township of Gangtok, this monastery is a 200 year old Buddhist monastery. The building of the monastery resembles the Chinese Pagoda structure. There is no other construction around the monastery and thus the monastery is also known as Solitary temple among the locals. Situated on the hilltop, the ambiance around it makes a pleasant view of the surrounding. On the entrance of the monastery, several colourful flags cover up the passage. These flags are placed to commemorate the dead lamas. Inside the Monastery, there are pictures of Gods and Goddesses, religious relics and some wonderful awe-inspiring thangkas.
