Krabi is a beach town with some of the most remarkable seashore cliffs in Thailand. The Phi Phi islands and the many neighboring beach locales draw snorkelers, scuba divers, boaters and kayakers. Krabi has a huge coral areas and pure water visibility, making it an amazing destination for all kinds of water sports. Even though Krabi isn’t topping on many travelers’ priority lists, some people are enamored enough by the gracious people, luscious food and nearly empty streets. The town resides on the western bank of the Mae Nam Krabi, and about 1000km from Bangkok and 180km from Phuket. The population is largely Taoist-Confucianism and Muslims, and Krabi is a significant shipping center for ferryboats to the islands down the coast.
