This beautiful lake is situated a few kilometres away from Agartala at the borders of neighbouring Bangladesh. This is an ideal place for picnics. Legend has it that the lake was excavated by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya Bahadur in the 15th century. The Kamala Sagar Kali Temple is situated on a hillock overlooking the lake. It houses the deity Maa Kali, made of sandstone with a shiva linga at her feet, who is considered to be identical to Mahishasurmardini. This lake and temple are well connected through buses and taxis to various other destinations across the country.
