In 1861, the other most astonishing palace was constructed by the Krishnaraja Wodeyar III and this palace served as a home to the royal family till the Amba Villas Palace was constructed after got destroyed in fire. As soon as you enter the premises of this wonderful palace, you will sure remain shocked with its intricate interior and also the fine carvings done on the main gate. After few years, in 1915, the palace took the shape of art gallery and got a new name – Sri Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery. This art gallery has wide and great collection of paintings made by Raja Ravi Varma and Haldenkar, whose painting the Lady with the lamp, is really outstanding!!
