Spread in 240 square kilometers, this wildlife sanctuary is located in the Western Ghats of South India. It is situated 57 kilometres from Panaji. The BhagwanMahavir Wildlife Sanctuary consists of several temples of Kadamba Dynasty, and theDudhsagar Falls. The sanctuary is also a home of nomadic buffalo herders known as the Dhangarand consists of pristine vegetations. Some of popular birds can be seen in this sanctuary along with wild mammals like barking deer, Bengal tiger, Leopard, bonnet macaque, common langur and many more. Some of its attractions are TambdiSurla Temple, Dudhsagar Falls, Devils Canyon, Tambdi Falls and the Sunset Point.
