Also known as the Hall of Music, SangeethaMahalis located in the Thanjavur Palace and is a prime attraction for the music lovers. It was built in the early 1600’s by King Sevappa Nayak and was named Sangeetha Mahal during the rule of Marathas. It is a rectangle shaped hall with a vaulted roof having four pankahs and chandeliers. Known for its architectural splendors and acoustic properties, the Sangeetha Mahal is built in such a way that deflect the sound waves and also devoid excess amplification.
