Another beautiful lake in the Hyderabad city built during the rule of Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah. The lake was built in the year 1562 by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali. Similar to other lakes in the city, the Hussain Sagar is also an artificial lake built across a tributary of the river Musi to express the gratitude of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah to Hussain Shah Wali. The major attraction of the lake is an 18 meter huge statue of Lord Buddha on the top of the Rock of Gibraltar. It is a popular spot for boating and sailing purposes.  Around the lake are several parks and picnic spots.
