Hanuman Ghat in Varanasi is also one of the most striking sites and was formerly known as the Rameshwaram ghat. According to some legends, it was believed that the ghat was constructed by Lord Rama and he dedicated this beautiful Ghat to his main disciple Lord Hanuman. As we all know, Lord Hanuman was famous as an idol of strength, therefore, many wrestlers and body builders came here to perform various exercises. This Ghat was also supposed to be teaching institute for many disciples of Vallabhacharya, a popular Vaishnava Saint. He used to tell many interesting stories associated with Lord Krishna to his students on this Ghat.
