GurudwaraCharan Kamal is a famous religious shrine located in the Machhiwara village at a distance of 35 km from the main city of Ludhiana. It is the place where Guru Gobind Singh rested for some time during guerrilla war against the Mughals. It was here that he was accompanied by his three devotees named Dharam Singh, Daga Singh and Manu Singh. This sacred shrine is enclosed in a beautiful white building with wonderful architecture and decoration. The place is also known as the site where Guruji sang his song, “Mitra Piyare Nu’. An annual fair is held here in December to commemorate the memory of this great saint.
