Government Museum & Art Gallery is located in Sector 10 in Chandigarh. The museum was established in 1968 which preserves a large variety of coins, decorative arts, miniature paintings and stone sculptures date back to the Gandhara period.  This is a famous tourist attraction in Chandigarh. The museum is open six days a week including Sundays. The weekly off is on Mondays. Le Corbusier is the architect and designer of this wonderful museum. Tourists here can see fossils and artifacts of the prehistoric period. The museum also has a large reference library where one can learn about different exhibits in detail which are kept in the museum.
