The temple is dedicated to Mata Chandi, which is considered as the goddess of power. The temple is located on Kalka road at a distance of 15 kms from the city of Chandigarh. The Chandi mandir is very famous and the temple is visited by a large number of people. This is a Siddh Peeth, where people believe that one’s wishes are granted by Mata Chandi. The city of Chandigarh derives its name from this temple only. During the festival of Navratras, several thousands of people visit the temple everyday. Chandi Devi mandir is an important tourist attraction for the travelers coming to Chandigarh.
