Kavala Caves in Dandeli, located at only 25 kms from the Dandeli, is must-see destination for the tourists from all over the world. For getting to the caves, one has to climb up thousand steps passing through lush green deep forests. It is believed that these caves have an idol of naturally created Shiva Lingam. But it is not as much simple as it sounds, one has to clamber into 40ft narrow tunnels. Though the caves were supposed to be an outcome of the prehistoric times, but today these caves are not populated with any humans but with lots of snakes and bats.
