Kaveri River got originated from one of the most auspicious place of Coorg – Talacauvery!! This awesome spot is located only at the distance of 48 kms from Madikeri and is not to be missed one. There is a marvelous temple at this spot which is devoted to Lord Agastheeswara and also, there are two temples namely of Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha at this place. Within the coverage of temple, there is a sacred tree named Ashwantha. As per few famous legends, it was believed that Sage Agasthya used to carry River Kaveri in his Kumandal and one day, when he was doing meditation, Lord Ganesha in form of crow dipped his beak in Kamandala and dropped the articles. The then only, Kaveri River got its original form of flowing.
