Nestled at the foothills of Thadiyandamol mountain, Nalknad Aramane or Palace is one of the must-see places of Coorg. This elegant palace was constructed by Dodda Viraraja in the year 1792 with great passion and dedication which is very clear from the fact that he got married to Mahadevammaji in this awesome palace only. It is situated in Kakabbe district of Coorg and at one time, it was the belonging of Lingaraja, the famous Hindu King of that era. The palace was perfectly adorned with beautiful paintings and mind-boggling architecture. The edifice of the palace is quite enticing with the convoluted carvings done on wood.
