The new Mangalore port located close to Panambur near Bangalore is famously known as the new mangalore port trust. It was established in 1974 and is the ninth largest port in India. It took 12 years to complete this construction of this port. This port serves majority of Karnataka and its neighbours. The export and import activities are carried out here mostly. Exports include coffee, iron ores, timber logs, liquid ammonia etc. And imports include fertilizers, phosphoric acids and many other chemicals.
