Mandvi Gate, Vadodara, Gujarat - A massive gate of Mughal era

Termed as the North gate of the Royal Enclosure, the Mandvi Gate is a prime landmarks of the city. This massive gate was built by Sultan Muzaffar of the Mughal era in the 15^th century. It is square shaped and houses three arched entrances on all of its four sides. In the 17^thcentury, the gate was rebuilt by Governor Malharoa Maloji and now is marked by a market place separating the roads into four sections. The gate is beautifully illuminated with colorful lights on the occasion of cultural events or festivals in the city and presents a fabulous sight to be enjoyed.
