Termed as the North gate of the Royal Enclosure, the Mandvi Gate is a prime landmarks of the city. This massive gate was built by Sultan Muzaffar of the Mughal era in the 15th century. It is square shaped and houses three arched entrances on all of its four sides. In the 17thcentury, the gate was rebuilt by Governor Malharoa Maloji and now is marked by a market place separating the roads into four sections. The gate is beautifully illuminated with colorful lights on the occasion of cultural events or festivals in the city and presents a fabulous sight to be enjoyed.
