Rani Mahal, Ajmer, Rajasthan - Architectural style

Scenic, Palace

Rani Mahal, today’s prime attraction of Ajmer, was constructed during the reign of Akbar for the women of his family including wives, courtesans and mistresses. Located inside the Taragarh Fort, the Rani Mahal also never fails to attract its almost all visitors. The structure of the palace was also constructed in the typical Rajasthani style making use of stained glass windows and murals. Just standing at the windows called Jharokhas, one can capture the stunning views of Aravalli Ranges. The construction of Rani Mahal completely throws an effective light on the “Purdah System” of that era.
