An artificial lake in the city of Hyderabad is also known as Gandipet. Osman Sagar was created in 1920 by damming the Musi River for providing drinking water and saving the city from flood. During the reign of The Last Nizam of Hyderabad, Osman Ali Khan, the lake was formed thus name goes as Osman. The lake is one of the favorite tourist destinations in Hyderabad and spread around 46 km². During the rainy season when the reservoir gets filled with water one can have a mesmerizing view of the lake. It is a must to visit Osman Sagar if you are visiting Hyderabad.
