Built in 1333, devastated by fire in 1993 and instantaneously restored to keep enjoying the class of the oldest stilted bridge in Europe, the Kapellbrücke's allure and historic air are so enticing that you will quickly lose count of how many times you've already crossed it. The 204-meter long edifice bends as it leaves the coast, and then angles athwart River Reuss and past a 43-meter tall stone water loom, a former prison and reserves. Pay attention to the medieval paintings under the overpass's triangular crown, and make sure you don’t baffle the Kapellbrücke with Spreuer Bridge, for some reason not so renowned but equally exciting.
