Bikaner is believed to be the hub of famous temples in the state and Kolayat Temple is among the long list of famous and oldest temples in the city. This magnificent temple is situated on the Bikaner – Jaisalmer Highway. Situated at the distance of 51 kms from Bikaner, the temple is erected in Kolayat. According to popular legend associated with this place, it is believed that in Kolayat, famous sage Kapil Muni has attained salvation under a Banyan tree. The temple is beautifully constructed with the white marble and pavilions here are made up of red sandstones. Other than the temple, visitors also love to take religious dip in the 32 bathing ghats present here.
