This fort is located beyond the lake of Nagin. It is developed by the Afgan Governor in the 18th century. The wall which encloses the upper side of the hill was built in 1592-98 AD by Akbar. This hill is surrounded by orchards which looks beautiful in the month of April. This hill is a holy place of Hindus and dedicated to Goddess Shakti or Durga. Tourists can easily visit this fort by taxis. It is managed by the Department of Archeology. This fort is the historic monuments of Srinagar. The other places near to this fort are Sharika Devi Temple and Lalmandi Square.
