Located in the heart of the city of Ayodhya, Hanuman Garhi is one of the most popular attractions for the devotees. This place is believed to be the site where Lord Hanuman lived in a cave to protect Ramkot. The place was later on donated by Nawab of Avadh and a temple was built here in the 10th century. To reach the temple, one has to climb a flight of 76 steps. The main sanctum sanctorum of the temple houses a massive statue of Maa Anjani with infant Hanuman sitting in her lap. The temple is worth visiting due to its impressive structure manifesting wonderful architectural skills. It is shaped like a four sided fort with circular bastions on each corner. It is believed that a visit to this holy shrine fulfill the wishes of the devotees.
