Located at an altitude of 1982m,Gaurikundthe holy place is famous for an ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Parvati. According to mythology, it is said that Parvati meditated at this placeto win Lord Shiva as her better half. There is a hot water spring located at this place with the name of Gaurikund. It is believed that a holy dip in the pond is believed to make the devotees get rid of all the evils and make them pure-hearted. This place is also the starting trek point to reach Kedarnath Temple.
