Guptkashi, renowned for the Ardhanareeshwar and Viswanath temple is a must visit place for the devotees in Kedarnath. It is said that Lord Shiva hid at this place for sometime. The Viswanath temple is considered as the several incarnations of Lord Shiva. The temple is a perfect example of exquisite architectural style of ancient times. Ardhanareeshwaris a divine concept that portrays the idol of Lord Shiva in the form of half man and half woman.The temple premises also houses the two streams of water that symbolize the two holy riversnamely Ganges and Yamuna. One can also see the Nandi bull as a guard at the entrance of the temple.
