ChhatarManzil got its name from its astonishing dome having an umbrella shape. Nawabs of Lucknow built this structure and at present, it is one of the amazing attractions of Lucknow. This marvel of Lucknow was built having great influence of European architecture. Ghazi-ud-din was ruling over the city at the time of its construction and later on, remaining construction was done in front of his son named Nasir-ud-din Haider. At present, ChhatarManzil was renovated to play the role of office for the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI).
