This is one of the historically important places in Pune that is famed for its connections with the Indian Independence movement. It is said that during the Quit India Movement in 1942, this was the palace where Mahatma Gandhi and his wife Kasturba Gandhi were imprisoned along with Mahadeobhai Desai. Surrounded by the lavish green gardens all around Aga Khan Palace houses some lavishly decorated guest rooms and suites. This outstanding palace comprises of five halls and is spread over 19 acres. The palace is one of the finest pieces of architectural beauty in the western India.
