Situated in the Garhi Cantonment area at a distance of 6.5 kms from the Dehradun city is the Tapkeshwar temple. It is a heavenly place in the dense forest valley where the Guru Drona of Pandavas and Kauravas meditated to gain further knowledge. This is the auspicious place where thousands of people pay their visit to see the special marriage ceremony of Shiva and Parvati. In Tapkeshwar temple, water from the hills and trees gets collected and then flows down as droplets onto the Shivling.  The Tapkeshwar is a famous cave temple and is one among the busiest pilgrim centres in the hill resort.
