Kenya National Archives are housed in the very central, prominent old former Bank of India building. Being in the heart of Central Business District of Nairobi metropolitan, behind the thick walls there is a tranquillity that shuts off the noise from its environs. . The main floor gallery has documents and a compilation of photographs and paintings of Mzee Kenyatta and earlier President Moi. The former President is shown in his travels around the globe, shaking hands with various dignitaries. Paintings from Joseph Murumbi's collection overlook the walls. The museum has a variety of paintings and tribal photographs from all through Africa. There is also colossal collection of tribal armaments, instruments, masks and other equipment.
