Triveni Ghat, Somnath, Gujarat - A sacred site at the confluence of three rivers
Triveni Ghat, the sacred site at Somnath is the confluence of the three pious rivers named Kapil, Hiran and Saraswati. These three rivers symbolize the three stages of human birth, life and death. A number of people gather here to take a holy dip into the waters of the Triveni Sangam which is believed to be a boon to cure all curses and sins of people’s life. The Triveni Ghat also holds an important place in Vedas and Puranas. It is said that after being shot by an arrow, Lord Krishna rested at this place for some time and thus it is a highly revered tourist destination in Somnath.
