The British Museum, in London, is said to be one of the world's supreme museums of human history and ethnicity. It’s the enduring collection, about eight million works, is among the premium, most widespread, and prevalent in survival and instigates from all continents, exemplifying and essaying the legend of human culture from its beginnings to the present. The British Museum was established in 1753, mainly based on the compilations of the physician and scientist Sir Hans Sloane. The museum was first inaugurated to the public on 15 January 1759 in Montagu House in Bloomsbury, on the location of the present museum building.
