Perched at the 34 kms away from Surat, Bardoli is also one of the main destinations in Gujarat and also holds great place in the chapters in history of India. As per historical legends of India, Gandhiji had commenced a satyagrha for the farmers in 1921-22 named the Bardoli Satyagraha. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was the leader of this movement. In Bardoli itself, one ashram was constructed named Swaraj Ashram ,to memorize this movement initiated by Gandhiji. This has been proved to be one of the must-see attractions of Surat.
