Dandi is the famous center of salt and is perched at the distance of 55 kms away from Surat on a coastline. Dandi is not only the place of exploring but it also has great importance in the past history as the first thing that strikes the mind listening the name “Dandi” is the “Dandi March”. Gandhiji initiated this Satyagraha movement in 1930 to dissent against the salt tax imposed by the Britishers. Therefore, it is a great holy place which reveals the history of struggle for Independence.
