Kalika Mata Temple, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan - An ancient temple of the 8th century
Kalika Mata Temple is one of the most famous temples in Chittorgarh and is dedicated to Kalika, the Goddess of courage and power. The temple id dated back to the 8th century and is one of the oldest temples in Chittorgarh. Lying close to the Padmini Palace, it was constructed by Bappa Rawal and is also known as the Devi Mata Temple. It is dotted with fantastic carvings and sculptures and a lot of devotees came here to seek the blessings of the Goddess. An annual fair is also organized here in the temple premises.
