Located close to Santiniketan, Amar Kutir was a cooperative movement initiated by Rabindranath Tagore to develop art and craft of the rural folk. It is built in an ashram complex and is renowned for its exclusive handicraft items of bamboo, batik crafts, kantha embroidery saris, traditional dokra jewelry, leather goods and many more. The tourists can also purchase these wonderful handicrafts and other artifacts from Amar Kutir during their trip to Santiniketan.
