Kankalitala is a sacred Satipithas near Santiniketan located at the banks of River Kopai. The place is recognized as one of the fifty two Pithas or sacred spots where some of the body parts were fell down of the corpse of Devi Sati while she was carried by Lord Shiva. A popular temple of Maa Sati is located here which is visited by a number of devotees and is believed to be a sacred place for the Hindus. An annual fair of Kankalitala is held at the temple during the month of April that draws a huge crowd.
