Sprawling in a vast area of about 100sq km, this orchid sanctuary is one of the prime attractions in the town. Located at the foothills of the Himalayas, the place serve as a natural habitat for plenty of orchids. Housing more than 200 species of orchids including seven endemic species of Aprotrophicorchids, the sanctuary is really a wonderful place for the nature lovers.  Some of the common orchid genres seen here are dendorbium, coelogyne, eria, bulbophyllum, phaius and liparis etc. Dotted with rolling mountains, roaring valleys and gorges, it also offers exciting trekking and hiking opportunities for the adventurous seekers.
