Dedicated to the great Shaivite leader named Matsyendranath of the Natha sect, this is a scenic place at the banks of River Shipra. It is a great pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Muslims. It is believed that this great saint lived in the outskirts of the holy city of Ujjain and an attractive shrine was built here in the memory of Matsyendranath. Certain excavations have been carried out at the site that revealed some antiquities dated back to the 6th and 7th century. It also houses a dome flanked by four minarets that offer captivating view of the nearby surroundings.
