Nohkalikai Falls, Cherrapunji, Meghalaya - The tallest plunge waterfall of the country

Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in the country and is a prime attraction near Cherrapunji. This waterfall is entirely fed on the rainfall that occurs in the region and hence gets dried up during the dry season. A plunge pool is formed right down the waterfall that looks amazing with its emerald green water. The legend says that a girl named Kalikai had leapt off the high cliff lying next to the fall. The best time to visit the waterfall is during monsoon when it cascades down with its full glory and vigor. Recently some steps have been constructed for the visitors that take them to the base of the waterfall.
